Purchasing a Sheep Trekking Experience

It is easy and secure to purchase your experience through us. If you are looking for a specific date for an event please get in touch at kypiefarm@gmail.com. We accept PayPal, debit and credit cards through our website. If you experience any problems with your shopping basket or payment contact us and we will try to resolve the issue.

Shared Group Bookings

You agree at the time of booking that should you not select the Family Trekking Experience which books all 4 available sheep, that any remaining sheep which have gone unbooked by yourself will be left open for sale and therefore allows other members of the general public to book. Sharing experiences allows us to keep booking prices down and creates a better opportunity to meet the full sheep trekking flock.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Vouchers are emailed to the intended recipient and can be redeemed on our website prior to the expiry date. The only exception to this is if an experience has to be cancelled or delayed through circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather. Please note gift vouchers can be used against any of our experiences.

Refund Policy

You have up to 14 days from purchase to cancel your booking, following this, no refunds will be issued. Changes to your booked date are permitted but will be subject to availability.

Cancellation Policy

Sometimes we have to cancel an experience for reasons beyond our control, such as the weather or animal welfare reasons. In this unlikely event, we will do our best to notify you as soon as possible and convert your experience to a voucher to use on an alternative date or time. We regret that, in these circumstances we are unable to reimburse travel, accommodation or any other expenses you may incur in relation to the cancelled experience. We suggest you take out cancellation insurance prior to your experience.

Health and Safety

All treks and experiences are considered by us to be safe, providing you & everybody included in your party follow our advice, guidance and instruction at all times, however all activities are undertaken at your own risk.

Arrival

Please arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the experience. For safety reasons, please do not arrive before this, as farm machinery may be in operation and access to our farmyard for parking will not be available. If you arrive late, you will miss the experience. In the event that you think you are going to arrive late, please contact Anne on 07712114525 to advise. Your visit leader will greet you at the car parking arrive.

On the Farm

We run our sheep trekking experiences on our working farm. There are areas that visitors will not be permitted to enter and we ask that you adhere to this in the interest of Health & Safety and Biosecurity.

Parking

Please park only in the designated parking area to avoid causing unnecessary obstruction for farm traffic. For safety and security reasons, only persons participating in an experience should be "on farm". Therefore we ask that any chauffeurs drive off the farm into the local area and return at the time the session is due to end. We can advise about facilities in the local area, so please ask when booking.

Walking Ability

Our trekking experiences require a moderate level of physical fitness for you to be able to participate fully. We must be made aware of any medical condition or physical impairment which may affect your ability to participate. This includes; visual or hearing impairments and pregnancy. If you are unsure of your ability to participate fully or unsure of which option to choose, please discuss this with us, at the time of booking. You must be able to walk between 1-2 miles on uphill and uneven terrain. The walk is not difficult and will be taken at a leisurely pace. Please note that we do not allow wheelchairs or pushchairs on our treks.

Dogs

As we are a sheep farm and due to the nature of our experiences, no dogs are permitted on site.

Clothing

Dress for the outdoors, especially if it has been wet. We will we walking predominately off road through fields and tracks, please wear suitable sturdy and if need be, waterproof footwear. Umbrellas are not permitted. All sheep treks and experience options are outdoor activities and involve the handling of animals. We ask that you dress appropriately, taking into account the weather and nature of the experience, so please no flappy clothing. If you arrive with inappropriate clothing or footwear for the experience booked, we reserve the right to not allow you to handle the sheep or trek due to Health & Safety. A refund will not be issued in these circumstances.

Participants of treks and experiences must be willing to listen and take instruction prior to handling the sheep and during the treks and experiences. If you are unable or unwilling to do so you will not be allowed to continue. A refund will not be issued in these circumstances.

Children and Spectators

Children must be a minimum age of 10 on the day they participate, to lead a sheep independently. Children under 10 must share a sheep with a paying adult.  By booking your experience, you are agreeing that any children booked will have reached the required age for the option you have booked. We cannot accept children under 16 years old on any option without an accompanying paying adult. Everybody on the trek is able to benefit from and enjoy the experience and is also able to learn about the sheep, therefore either a spectator place or a place with a sheep, must also be purchased for accompanying adults.

Our Sheep

All our sheep are kept to the highest possible welfare standards, and each activity is carefully managed with their wellbeing in mind. We hope it will be unlikely, but it is inevitable that occasionally an animal may have an off day, and we reserve the right to alter or cancel an experience should the experience possibly be detrimental to their health. If any issue is known in time, you will be contacted and alternative arrangements will be discussed. If we need to cancel an experience for this reason, an alternative date or activity will be offered or refund can be made.

Insurance

We hold Public Liability Insurance but we request that you hold your own personal accident and cancellation insurance. We recommend that you take out personal insurance for the unlikely event that you break down, have traffic delays, suffer from illness or are prevented in any other way from attending your booked session on time. If you know you will be arriving late, please contact your experience leader on 07712114525. If you are arriving more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to start the experience without you and your space/s may be forfeited . This is especially relevant with join-in sessions where other attendees will be negatively impacted.

All prices quoted in any promotional literature are correct at the time of publication. We reserve the right to increase the price of any product without notice. You will be notified of any price increase before you place your order.
